Supporting the Community

Our project, Datacasting Action Research Teams, or DART, is focused on telling the stories of these resilient parents, students and teachers. Our focus is on families, documenting and sharing the best practices which improve learning for families in their homes.  These are the solutions we have developed to support the families in our area.

21st CenturyTeaching & Learning

An exciting part of this project is everyone using their skills to create learning opportunities.  Check out some amazing videos about the kind of skills we will be sharing in our community of practice.  If you just registered, look in your email for a chance to share your skills soon.

Community of Practice

We have created a community of practice to gather families that participate in our efforts.  We will have special events, pod connections, showing and sharing learning.  Participants will come together to work on community projects and share their stories of growth.

The Family Learning Project

The Family Learning Company is responsible for providing DART with family literacy software. The purpose of family literacy software is two-fold:

  1. To increase literacy skills for both children and adults.

  2. To increase family engagement.

We are excited to provide this solution to bridging the digital divide.  We believe this is a big step in the right direction to providing equity to all in our community.

Datacasting is the broadcasting of data over a wide area via radio waves. It most often refers to supplemental information sent by television stations along with digital terrestrial television, but may also be applied to digital signals on analog TV or radio.

How fast is your internet?

An important part of our research is understanding the internet speeds of our stakeholders from their homes.  This data will help us develop a strategy on how to better serve families in our area.
